Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which surpasses every man’s understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.

1 Peter 5:7 Casting all your anxiety on Him because it matters to Him concerning you.

Matthew 11:30 For My yoke is easy and My burden light.

Many times, we try to carry our burdens on our own. We become tired and worn out. However, according to 1 Peter 5:7, we can cast “all your anxiety on Him.” This means that we don’t have to carry all our worries and burdens because He takes care of us. On top of that He gives us a yoke that is easy and a burden that is light (Matthew 11:28). This means that by following Him and taking His yoke and burden instead of ours, we may relieve ourselves of our anxieties.

To say that we should be free of anxiety does not mean that every day we will receive only good news. Quite often Satan will send us bad news. But we need not be troubled by this bad news, for we have the peace of God, God Himself as peace, within us, guarding our inner feelings. However, if we would experience this peace of God, we need to pray and have fellowship with God.

Reflect:

How often do you pray concerning the things that make you worried?

Prayer:

“Lord, I cast my anxieties on You. I want to be free from all my worries to focus on You.”
