Schedule Day 1: Seek First

Creating and Maintaining a Balanced Schedule

Day 1: Seek First

A serene forest scene with sun rays illuminating fresh green leaves.

Matthew 6:33 But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

The Lord said in Matthew 6, “Do not be anxious, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, With what shall we be clothed? For all these things the Gentiles are anxiously seeking. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you” (vv. 31-33). As long as we seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, whatever we might need, He will add to us. He will not only give us the kingdom and the righteousness but will also add to us whatever we need in our living, such as what we need to eat, drink, and clothe ourselves with. We should do our duty and work diligently, experiencing the Lord as the overshadowing power within us. At the same time we should also believe that He will bear the responsibility regarding all our outward circumstances, daily needs, and financial arrangements.

Reflect:

What things in our life occupy our time and make us anxious? How can we allow the Lord in these things?

Prayer:

“Lord, I’m worried about many things, but I’m giving you the first place and I want to seek first your kingdom and your righteousness. I let you take the responsibility for me.”
